John Sweeney EndowmentJohn Sweeney Endowment

An annual award, established by the WCDSB Board of Trustees, presented to an outstanding WCSDB Secondary school graduate attending St. Jerome’s University, Waterloo. The trustees make a recommendation of a worthy recipient to the WRCSF board of directors each year.

Mirko Hroch – Resurrection CSSMirko Hroch – Resurrection CSS

An annual award, established in memory of Mirko Hroch, presented to an outstanding academic graduating from Resurrection Catholic Secondary School. Mirko’s family reviews candidate applications and makes a recommendation of a worthy recipient to the WRCSF board of directors each year.

Monsignor Doyle CSS Fund Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School Fund

Annual awards, established as bursaries in memory of Luis Morieira, Nancy Pium, presented to deserving graduate students. A school staff committee make a recommendation of worthy recipients to the WRCSF board of directors each year.

Saint Jerome’s High School Memorial Fund

Annual awards to students in five WCDSB Secondary schools. Established by alumni of SJHS in memory of Father Michael Cuddari, C.R. and William Winter, these funds support graduating students who have demonstrated exception effort in their school life and need financial support for their post-Secondary education.

Cathy Moloney Cathy Moloney Newcomer Fund

Provides funds for ESL departments to purchase resources to enhance literacy and language acquisition for individual students. These resources will be “gifted” to the receiving students.

Clarke YoungClarke Young Legacy Endowment

To honour the memory of Clarke, a memorial fund has been established that will assist children who require financial support to pursue their dreams in athletics. Individual Elementary and Secondary school students attending Waterloo Region Catholic Schools can apply through their school principal. Funds will be awarded to support any aspect of organized sport, including equipment and registrations.

France-Anne SweenyFrance-Anne Sweeny “Making A Difference”

Established in memory of France-Anne Sweeny by her family, this fund provides awards for youth leaders in grades 11 and 12 who are attending all Catholic and Public schools in Waterloo Region. This fund is administrated by The Kitchener-Waterloo Community Foundation in cooperation with the Waterloo Region Catholic Schools Foundation.

Brendan DixonBrendan Dixon Legacy Award – Resurrection CSS

Established by the family of Brendan to celebrate his memory, this annual award will assist a grade 12 graduating student from Resurrection CSS who requires financial support to pursue their dream of post-Secondary education in creative writing, visual arts, or performing arts, at a recognized Canadian institution. Students self-nominate themselves and a school staff selection committee make a recommendation of a worthy recipient to the WRCSF board of directors each year.

GRCSPAGrand River Chinese School Parent Association Fund

Established by a dedicated Chinese-Canadian parent association, this fund supports all aspects of Chinese heritage programs and courses offered at St Louis Alternative Education Centre as well as scholarships and bursaries for deserving students. The parent association executives makes recommendations to the Foundation board of directors on annual allocations of funds.

Established to support performing arts traditions established by Mike Bergauer in Waterloo Region Catholic Schools for students today and for future generations

Established to support St. Jerome’s High School dramatic arts traditions established by Bill Klos in Waterloo Region Catholic Schools for students today and for future generations.

Established by graduates of St. Jerome’s High School and other local Secondary schools, the goal of Legacy is to help high school students moving on to post-secondary education in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge – our future leaders, community builders and foundation – overcome the challenges of funding post-secondary education.
